Ways to Give

Philanthropy at Knox Academy supports our educational model through both annual and long-term giving. Our top priority is the Blazer Fund, which covers immediate needs and program enhancements. Sustainable giving, including endowment and capital gifts, helps ensure long-term stability. Parent contributions and volunteer programs also play a key role in funding the extras that enrich student life each year.

Knox Academy is proud to participate in Mississippi's Children's Promise Act, enabling both individuals and businesses to support our educational mission while receiving state tax credits.

  • Eligible business taxpayers—including corporations, partnerships, LLCs, and sole proprietorships—can receive a dollar-for-dollar Mississippi state tax credit for donations made to Knox Academy. The credit can be applied to:

    • Income Tax

    • Insurance Premium Tax

    • Insurance Premium Retaliatory Tax

    • Ad Valorem Tax (for entities not operating as corporations)

The credit is limited to 50% of the business's tax liability and can be carried forward for up to five years. Please note that contributions cannot be used for other state charitable credits or as deductions for state income tax purposes.

  • Individual taxpayers can also benefit from the Children's Promise Act. Married couples filing jointly may receive a tax credit of up to $3,000, while single filers or heads of household may receive up to $1,500.

These credits apply to Mississippi state income tax and Ad Valorem Tax (50% of real property tax liability).

    1. Submit a request for approval for the tax credit through the Mississippi Department of Revenue's online application system.

    2. Upon approval, make your contribution to Knox Academy.

    3. Provide verification of your contribution to the Mississippi Department of Revenue within 60 days of approval.

Please be aware that tax credits are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. It's advisable to apply early to secure your credit. mchms.org

Endowment gifts secure the school’s financial foundations, and they have the potential to reduce the school’s reliance on tuition and annual giving. Because we are a young school, our efforts to build an endowment are just beginning.
